Army ROTC
The Lousiana Tech Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) is focused on training quality, competent, agile, and adaptive leaders who will enter the United States Army as commissioned officers. Students who participate in our program enhance their understanding of leadership and have a greater appreciation for excellence.
Army ROTC is one of the best leadership courses in the country and can be a part of your college curriculum. Learning to become a leader makes your college experience even richer and prepares you for the future.
Academic excellence is our priority for all students enrolled in the Louisiana Tech Army ROTC program. By using academics effectively and committing to quality training and good decision making, our students build the desire to exceed standards in other areas of leadership development and academics in the classroom.
The program
Grambling State University is the “host” for Louisiana Tech’s Army ROTC program. Meaning, Louisiana Tech students will attend classes and labs on the Grambling State campus. The Army ROTC courses are college electives focusing on leadership and management skills. We offer many scholarships and awards. The ROTC program consists of the Basic Course and the Advanced Course. The Basic Course provides college students the opportunity to learn about and experience the U.S. Army without incurring any military obligation during their freshman and sophomore years. The Advanced Course prepares juniors, seniors, and graduate students for commissioning as officers in the active U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve, or Army National Guard.
